Beth is a young woman in her 20s that worked for Youth Options as a youth worker. Her job role was working with14 to 19 year olds to advise them at school, college, social events, youth clubs, and work placements.
Beth has worked for Youth Options for 2 years; she works and communicates with young people very well.
Information, Advice and Guidance qualifications improved her skills
When she started the NVQ Level 2 in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) she was not sure how this was going to help within her job role.
During the time of her working towards her NVQ Level 2 in IAG, she felt she was improving her interview techniques and improving the advice she was able to put over to her clients.
She found that the IAG qualification did improve her skills and her work within her job role.
Angela (a Learning Links assessor) was Beth’s assessor for the NVQ in Advice and Guidance and said ‘this candidate worked hard and achieved her goal by passing her NVQ. ’
She found that the IAG qualification did improve her skills and her work within her job role. At work plans are now being recorded and written in a different way.
Beth has made a lot of referrals since doing her NVQ, and now has a better understanding of the referral process.
She gained more knowledge of Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, confidentiality and Data Protection legislations.
Beth is very happy and now wants to start her NVQ Level 3
Beth’s line manager has offered her a promotion due to her completing the NVQ Level 2, within the company as a family link coordinator.
Beth is very happy and now wants to start her NVQ Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance.
