Today a group of job seekers were visited by ex footballers Linvoy Primus and Mickey Mellows, in their Finding and Getting a Job Workshop at Learning Links.

Scott Diack, a customer in the workshop said, “It was an inspiration to meet a Pompey legend.”

Linvoy and Mickey, founders of Faith and Football and Naomi Hargreaves, who runs the organisation, visited Learning Links to show their support for the charity and their customers.

During their visit they were able to experience how Learning Links helps people in Portsmouth get from where they are to where they want to be.

The visit included experiencing a Job Search Workshop, understanding  Portsmouth Health Trainers Service, young people projects and other services Learning Links provides.

Linvoy said “It has been great to have contact with people at Learning Links it has allowed me to see the meat on the bone.”

Linvoy and Mickey are founders of Faith and Football, a Christian charity that has grown from helping young people and their families to providing a range of community, educational and overseas programmes using football as a platform.

The visit to Learning Links was a great chance for the charities to build partnerships as they both have similar aims.

“What we believe in is very much in line with each other” commented Linvoy.
